Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in students' lives by supporting learners with visual impairments in an educational setting near Muncy, PA. As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), you will guide and empower students, fostering both academic achievement and independence. Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. Previous experience working with students who have visual impairments in a school setting. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff. Ability to adapt curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility. Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities. Flexibility and enthusiasm for problem-solving in dynamic educational settings.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments. Adapt and modify instructional materials using braille, large print, tactile graphics, and assistive technology. Collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusive instruction and provide direct and consultative services. Assess students' progress and adjust interventions as needed to promote success across academic and functional areas. Offer guidance and training for staff and families on accommodations and specialized equipment. Create a supportive environment that encourages independence and self-advocacy among students.Benefits:
