1.0 Special Education Teacher

Summary:
Provide special education students through the implementation of IEPs, collaborate and communicate with students, family, and staff, and work as a team to support the unique needs of learners Essential duties and responsibilities: Develop Individualized Education Plans, positive behavior support plans, and communicate with professionalism in all required compliance areas Implement Individualized Education Plans and have an understanding of special education process, procedures, and compliance Collaborate with the special education curriculum leader and district leadership to understand yearly roles and responsibilities as dictated by student need Partner with professional staff team members to support the students' academic and emotional needs through Individualized Education Plans Ensure that the classroom environment is conducive to learning while building a positive rapport with students Implement positive behavioral and effective classroom management strategies Communicate regularly with students, parents, school counselors, and administrators regarding student matters Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as, maintain confidentiality according to law and policy
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and valid teaching certificate in K-12 or 7-12 special education
Preferred:
Minimum of three years experience in either a public or private education setting
Preferred:
Secondary Math or English certification Experience in supporting student behavioral and emotional health needs
