Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in young learners' lives as a Special Education Teacher with a dedicated K-8 school community just outside Philadelphia. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, with a consistent weekday schedule from 8:15am to 4:15pm—perfect for educators who thrive on structure, stability, and daily growth with their students. In this role, you'll work closely with 5th graders requiring learning support services, implementing both push-in and pull-out instructional models. By fostering an inclusive environment, you'll help each student realize their potential and advance academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Instructional I or II certification in Special Education K-12, or eligibility to obtain full certification by July. Experience with elementary or middle school caseloads, preferably supporting 5th grade learners. Familiarity with effective push-in/pull-out teaching strategies. Strong communication skills for collaboration with other educators, support staff, and families. Commitment to differentiated instruction and individualized support planning. Ability to thrive in a structured, dynamic school setting.
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, standards-based lessons to students with diverse learning needs. Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team. Utilize data-driven instruction methods to track progress and adjust supports as needed. Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Provide academic, emotional, and behavioral support throughout the year. This role offers a rewarding compensation structure, with hourly earnings ranging from $37.50 to $54.75, reflective of your expertise and impact.
