Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments in an engaging educational environment! This contract opportunity allows you to work closely with students, staff, and families to deliver specialized instruction, fostering independence and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience providing instruction and accommodations to students with visual impairments across various grade levels Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive materials Collaborative approach to working with classroom teachers, support staff, and families Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs tailored for visually impaired learners Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Assessing students' visual functioning and creating individualized educational strategies Delivering direct and consultative services to ensure students can access the curriculum effectively Adapting classroom materials and resources to meet visual needs Guiding teachers on modifying instructional techniques and environments for optimal support Consulting with families to support carryover of strategies at home Documenting progress, attending IEP meetings, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations Serving as an advocate for students to foster an inclusive and accessible school culture This contract role provides a rewarding chance to build strong connections while observing incredible student growth.
