Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school environment. As a pivotal support for K-12 learners, you'll provide specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs outlined in students' IEPs. This contract opportunity offers a part-time schedule—just 1 to 1.5 hours per day from Tuesday through Friday—allowing for both flexibility and focus in your work with students. Your role will center on delivering individualized educational support, fostering communication, and helping students develop the skills they need to thrive academically and socially. You'll become an essential advocate and educator, working onsite and collaborating with other dedicated professionals.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid DHH Educator certification required Experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ideally in K-12 settings Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation Effective communication and collaboration skills Ability to engage, motivate, and build rapport with individual students Familiarity with best practices and assistive technologies for DHH education
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized, one-on-one instruction to DHH students in accordance with IEPs Adapt teaching methods and materials to support individual learning styles Monitor progress and participate in IEP meetings as needed Communicate regularly with families, faculty, and support staff Document student progress and maintain required records This position's hybrid schedule is ideal for professionals seeking meaningful work without full-time hours.
