Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced Special Education Teacher to serve as a virtual Case Manager/Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year. In this full-time, contract position, you'll play a key role in supporting high school students and ensuring quality special education services through collaboration, leadership, and strong communication.
What You'll Bring:
Valid Vermont Special Educator license (VT
DOE SPED
requirements) Demonstrated success in virtual special education case management within Vermont Robust experience crafting compliant IEPs, maintaining student records, and ensuring process timelines are met Ability to engage and coordinate with educators, service providers, and families Superior organizational skills and attention to detail A proactive, solution-focused mindset with excellent communication abilities Previous references as a supervisor in a virtual special education environment
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the caseload of approximately 45 high school students as their primary case manager across two grades Organize and facilitate IEP meetings, evaluations, and re-evaluations to ensure compliance and student success Regularly review academic and behavioral data to drive informed decisions and support ongoing IEP development Maintain timely and effective communication with both staff and families to share updates, address concerns, and track progress toward goals Ensure accommodations and modifications are in place and properly implemented Work closely within a focused core team to support each student's unique needs
The Details:
Contract duration: August 28, 2026, through June 18, 2027 (tentative; follows school calendar) Full-time hours: 37.5 per week
