Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Catholic School Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in a faith-filled learning environment that supports the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development of students. The teacher fosters a classroom culture rooted in Catholic values, promotes academic excellence, and actively supports the mission and philosophy of Catholic education. Job Responsibilities Plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with curriculum standards, diocesan guidelines, and school goals. Create a positive classroom environment that promotes learning, respect, responsibility, and Christian values. Integrate Catholic teachings, traditions, and moral values into classroom activities, lessons, and daily interactions. Assess student progress through assignments, tests, projects, observations, and other appropriate evaluation methods. Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and student records in accordance with school policies. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student achievement, behavior, and classroom expectations. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and learning needs of students. Maintain classroom discipline consistent with school policies, Catholic principles, and best educational practices. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, school liturgies, retreats, and special events. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administration, and support staff to support student success and school improvement initiatives. Supervise students during assigned duties, field trips, and extracurricular activities as required. Support and uphold the mission, values, and philosophy of Catholic education through personal and professional conduct. Serve as a positive role model for students by demonstrating integrity, respect, compassion, and commitment to the Catholic faith. Job Requirements Valid state teaching certification or license appropriate to the assigned grade level or subject area. Practicing Catholic preferred, particularly for positions involving religion instruction, in accordance with diocesan policy. Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional best practices, and student assessment strategies. Strong classroom management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to effectively integrate faith and learning across the curriculum. Commitment to fostering a Christ-centered learning environment. Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administration. Successful completion of all required background checks and Safe Environment training. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the school day. Ability to supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and during school activities. Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and classroom supplies as needed. Employment Classification This position is a school-year faculty position and reports directly to the Principal or designated school administrator. Employment is subject to all diocesan, school, and state requirements.
