Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students. An exciting contract opportunity awaits you for the upcoming academic year, serving onsite in a supportive educational environment near Fortson, GA. This role promises a dynamic, collaborative atmosphere where your skills and passion will help shape accessible learning for students who are visually impaired.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Georgia Educator Certificate with the required endorsement for Teaching the Visually Impaired Previous experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in school settings preferred Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely documentation (daily service logs required) Willingness to collaborate with district teams regarding caseload and placement based on your strengths and experience Strong communication skills and adaptability to meet diverse student needs Must be comfortable working onsite; remote/virtual positions are not available for this assignment
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students who are visually impaired, based on their educational plans Advocate for accessible learning materials and classrooms, working closely with multidisciplinary teams Provide consultative support to staff and families to enhance student learning and independence Complete daily logs to document all services accurately as per district requirements Engage in planning and collaboration sessions, potentially including some pre- and post-academic year days Enjoy the rewards of a contract position with full-time hours (at least 37.5/week), with flexibility to discuss part-time arrangements depending on availability.
