Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a true impact with your expertise as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or Assistive Technology Instructor in a fully virtual setting for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. You'll have the rewarding opportunity to work one-on-one with a bright fourth-grade student, providing tailored reading and math instruction, as well as vital assistive technology support to enhance her educational experience—all from the convenience of your chosen workspace.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment, Hearing Impairment, or related area Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Teacher for the Visually Impaired Familiarity with virtual instruction platforms and adaptive technology tools Prior experience supporting K-12 students with sensory impairments is strongly preferred Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to individualized education Strong communication skills, both with students and collaborating with school teams
Key Responsibilities:
Provide engaging virtual instruction in reading and math for a fourth-grade student for 30 minutes each daily session Collaborate and consult with district personnel and families to support the student's IEP goals Deliver innovative assistive technology instruction approximately one hour per week, maximizing the student's access to the curriculum Maintain detailed records of progress and participate in virtual meetings as needed Adjust instructional strategies based on ongoing assessment and student needs Seize an opportunity to truly make a difference in a student's life while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.
