The Central Falls School District seeks to hire a talented, knowledgeable, and highly innovative certified educator to fill the self-contained/hybrid special educator grade 8 position at Calcutt Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. as they work towards building relationships with students/colleagues, delivering personalized, high-quality instruction, cultivating strong partnerships with our families and community, and meeting all position expectations and District policies. Certified staff is expected to abide by the Rhode Island Professional Teaching Standards and theCFSD/CFTU
collective bargaining agreement policies and procedures. Guided by the District's Strategic Plan, we strive to prepare all students for success!Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Administer appropriate district curriculum, which is aligned with the Rhode Island State Standards, in collaboration with General Educators. Provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in various settings aligned tothe goals and objectives of the students' IEPs Work and teach collaboratively with general education teachers and paraprofessionals, utilizing the co-teaching model. Share planning and instructional responsibility for all students to create the least restrictive environment. Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities within regulatory timelines. Complete quarterly progress reports per RI Regulations and ensure that the goals and objectives of their students' IEPs are implemented. Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment. Implements a compelling vision of the curriculum and implements it with fidelity, in addition to the standards and practices that align with Common Core Standards. This will result in college and career readiness for each student, which is multisensory for their needs. Develop detailed behavior management plans to address individual students' needs. Coordinate and implement service delivery with general educators, related services providers, support staff, other special educators, and building administrators. Coordinate evaluations, progress reports, and timelines with general educators, related service providers, support staff, other special educators, and building administrators. Establish two-way communication to engage parents/guardians as critical partners before, during, and after the team process. Utilize instructional materials that coordinate with district curricula to implement instruction that addresses students' goals and language needs while providing access to grade-level content. Maintain a positive learning environment that promotes the academic, social, and personal well-being of all students. Maintain and use adaptive/assistive technology as needed. Develop and implement classroom and curricular accommodations and modifications for students, including language development adaptations for ELLs. Cooperatively plan and teach with other educators. Assess progress, maintain documentation, monitor student learning/progress, and report as specified in the plan (MTSS, 504, IEP, etc.). Follow all RIDE regulations related to MLL Students with Disabilities. Bases all academic goals, plans, activities, and actions on what is best for the student. Consistently practice a growth mindset, demonstrating a strong class culture and using feedback to reflect and set goals. Communicate with families regularly via phone calls, emails, and written correspondence to discuss student performance, attendance, progress, etc. Other duties deemed necessary by the building administrator or the Director of EEE of SwD.Position Type:
