Jul 6, 2026 Job Description Part-Time Physical Education Teacher (K-8) Strides Academy, a private special education school serving students in grades K-8, is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Physical Education Teacher to join our team. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about promoting physical wellness, teamwork, confidence, and movement-based learning in a supportive and therapeutic school environment. Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM

School Setting:
Private Special Education School Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate physical education activities for students in grades K-8
  • Adapt lessons and activities to support a variety of learning, behavioral, and physical needs
  • Promote physical fitness, cooperation, sportsmanship, and healthy habits
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive gym environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support student success
  • Supervise students during physical education activities and transitions Qualifications
  • Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings
  • Ability to create a positive and encouraging learning environment
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred
  • RI teaching certification is a plus, but not required depending on experience, qualifications and education What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, enthusiastic, and committed to helping students build confidence through movement and physical activity.
