$45 / hrPosition Overview:
The responsibilities of this position will be performed under the direct supervision of the Building Principal and Director of Special Education. The Special Education/Resource Teacher will assume the case management duties as determined by the Building Principal and Director of Special Education. Responsibilities/duties include, but are not limited to: IEPs Coordinate IEP goals and objectives with ESY team members, based on IEP student needs Coordinate planning meetings with related service specialists (OT, PT, and Speech/Language, etc.) Assist Teaching Partners with the development and carryover of IEP goals in the classroom Service Delivery Implement IEP goals through remedial programs, classroom accommodations/modifications, and consultation with teachers and specialists, in small group instruction Complete progress reports for summer progress Maintain up-to-date progress data Modify and/or make accommodations to lessons, projects, groupings, and tests to meet students' learning needs Employ a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to ensure student understanding Plan and collaborate with other team members to meet student needs Develop a Resource Room where students are able to receive services in a small distraction-reduced setting when it is determined that the classroom environment may be too stimulating for these individuals. Resource Room will also serve as a space for students to visit to complete practice independent activities Coordinate schedules with teachers to service students in the classroom, consult regarding classroom strategies, and monitor progress of special education students in an integrated setting Complete case manager logs to record activities (Medicaid/CompuClaim) Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop rapport with all members of the school community including parents, teachers, and administrators Honor confidentialityJob Requirements:
