Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role as a Special Education Resource Teacher, where you'll make a genuine difference in the lives of elementary students. This full-time position is designed for educators passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs. You'll provide academic support through both push-in and pull-out models, fostering growth and achievement for each child. Your expertise will help guide students toward their goals while collaborating with general education teachers and special education staff. Through individualized instruction, progress monitoring, and IEP participation, you'll have a direct impact on student success during the 2026-2027 school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted instructional support in reading, math, and core academic subjects. Design and implement strategies based on IEP goals and student needs. Operate in both push-in (within general education classrooms) and pull-out (resource room) environments. Monitor student progress, collect data, and maintain thorough documentation. Work closely with general and special education teams to promote inclusion and effective supports. Participate actively in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with all requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid South Carolina Special Education certification (active or pending). Prior experience working in resource or inclusion settings.
