Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Empower young minds and make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students as a full-time Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026 - 2027 school year. This rewarding onsite contract role is located in a supportive school environment near Bowman, SC, just a short drive from Charleston. You will work closely with a resource classroom of elementary students navigating learning and behavioral disabilities, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every child has the chance to reach their full potential.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification) Experience teaching or supporting elementary students with learning and behavioral disabilities Strong knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to implement and monitor goals Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs Commitment to fostering a safe and encouraging classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality instruction in a resource classroom setting Develop, review, and implement IEPs tailored to student strengths and needs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success Collect and analyze data to drive instructional decisions and track student progress Facilitate positive behavior support plans and interventions Foster a welcoming, empowering, and inclusive classroom for all students As a valued educator in this role, you'll enjoy a stable, consistent schedule of 40 hours per week throughout the school year, allowing for meaningful connections with students and staff.
