Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. As a contract professional, your expertise will help shape inclusive learning environments and provide tailored support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related endorsements Experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant communication methods Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with students, staff, and families Ability to adapt instructional materials to diverse student needs
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing loss, ensuring personalized educational support Provide direct instruction or consultation services in various classroom settings Consult regularly with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to optimize student learning Facilitate communication access and use of assistive technology for students Conduct assessments and track student progress, reporting outcomes to IEP teams and caregivers Deliver professional guidance and resources to school staff to promote accessibility and inclusion This fulfilling contract role empowers you to foster growth and self-confidence in deaf and hard of hearing students, building meaningful relationships throughout your assignment.
