Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make meaningful connections and foster academic growth during the 2026-2027 school year. Two positions are available for dedicated educators who are passionate about helping all students reach their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active South Carolina Teaching License (Special Education Endorsement required) Experience or strong interest in working with students with diverse learning needs Ability to differentiate instruction and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Adaptability and commitment to cultivating a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Teach and support students with disabilities, following IEPs and established goals Deliver tailored lessons using evidence-based strategies to promote academic and social growth Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and support staff Maintain documentation of student progress and participate in IEP meetings Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages student success and well-being Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school community
