Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take on a meaningful role as a Special Education Teacher in an alternative education setting designed for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. Located near Chesnee, SC, this full-time contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year and provides a vital chance to make a lasting impact in a specialized Emotional Disabilities (ED) classroom. In this position, you'll use your expertise to guide students with significant behavioral and emotional needs, fostering both academic and social-emotional growth. Your support will be crucial in helping students achieve success in a highly structured, therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individualized education program (IEP) goals for students with emotional disabilities. Implement effective behavior intervention plans and utilize de-escalation techniques to maintain a constructive classroom atmosphere. Develop and sustain a consistent routine that supports students' social-emotional development and academic achievement. Work closely with behavioral specialists, school administrators, and support staff to ensure student progress and safety. Manage documentation requirements and play an active role in IEP meetings and student support planning.
Desired Qualifications:
Possession of, or eligibility for, a valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification.
