Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for full-time contract positions for the 2026-2027 school year. Ten opportunities are available to support elementary students in a vibrant, engaging educational environment. Positions Open:
2 Resource Teachers supporting K-5th grade students 2 Core Replacement Teachers for K-5th grade 1 Moderate-Severe Teacher working with K-5th grade students
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (active or eligible for South Carolina) Prior experience teaching in a special education setting, especially with elementary grades Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods for diverse learning needs Flexibility and enthusiasm for working with different types of learners Comfortable working onsite and open to the possibility of virtual instruction later in the year
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, adapt, and deliver instruction tailored to each student's IEP goals Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to foster student success Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining detailed documentation Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom environment Manage classroom routines and encourage positive behavior Experience life and work in a friendly, welcoming community while enriching your professional journey.
