Job Description

Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a school district in Gaffney, SC to hire dedicated Special Education Teachers for the upcoming 26-27 school year. This is a full-time contract opportunity supporting students in a structured, supportive educational setting.
Assignment Details Contract Dates:
August 3, 2026 through May 28, 2027
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, approximately 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM (may vary by school level)
Hours:
37.5 hours per week
Setting:
School-based (elementary, middle, high, or alternative school placements)
Position Overview :
Openings are focused on self-contained and specialized classroom settings, including: Emotionally Disabled (ED) Classroom, Alternative School Small caseload (typically 2-3 students) Supported by a teacher assistant Additional potential placements may include: Elementary multi-categorical classrooms Middle school resource classrooms These roles provide an opportunity to work closely with students requiring individualized instruction and behavioral support, helping them succeed academically and socially. Responsibilities Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide differentiated instruction based on student needs Support students with emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges Collaborate with paraprofessionals, staff, and families Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state regulations Qualifications Active State Educator License Special Education Certification required Certification in Intellectual Disabilities (ID) or related area preferred Experience in self-contained or ED classrooms strongly preferred Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills Ideal Candidate Passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs Comfortable working in structured or alternative education settings Able to manage behavior challenges with patience and professionalism Committed to the full school year Why Work with Supplemental Health Care?
