Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference for middle school students by stepping into a pivotal role supporting their growth and success as a Resource Teacher specializing in Special Education. This contract opportunity begins on July 27, 2026, and runs through the end of the school year, offering 37.5 hours per week within a dynamic and supportive educational environment. In this position, you'll work closely with students in a middle school resource setting, providing tailored instruction that addresses unique learning needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to cultivate a nurturing and effective learning atmosphere where every student has the opportunity to excel.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification. Experience working with middle school students in a resource classroom. Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to build meaningful, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students' IEP goals. Design and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse student needs. Track and report on student progress, maintaining thorough documentation. Engage in regular collaboration with general educators, paraprofessionals, and specialists. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence.
