Job Description
High School Special Education Teacher at
Work with students with IEPs to set high goals that will compete with students who are applying to top high schools.
Review student 504 plans and IEPs and lead IEP meetings.
Oversees compliance of special education files.
Tracks discipline data to ensure that special education discipline procedures are implemented (Manifestation Determination meetings, continuity of SPED services, FAPE).Coordinates RTI procedures and implementation.
Assist the principal in coordinating, managing, and administering state, MAP, and interim assessments with accommodations.
Monitor overall academic progress for students with IEPs. Qualifications Bachelors degree, required.
Valid South Carolina teaching certification required.
Special Education teaching certification is required.
A minimum of 2 years of successful lead teaching experience in an underserved community, preferred.
Dedication to helping children grow and learn.
Relentless focus on results and a commitment to teamwork.
Experience working with English Language Learners, preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred. Work Schedule Teachers will operate on the Legacy Early College academic calendar, which has a 195-day (10-month school year) schedule. A typical Full-Time week during normal school hours is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salaries are based on education, certification, and experience. Legacy Early College (Legacy) is looking for Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year, with the ability to ensure student success through differentiated instruction. The candidate must create and maintain a climate that promotes respect, tolerance, and peaceful problem-solving for all students. This position reports to the School Principal.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
