Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher, working with multiple age groups and settings throughout the academic year. This contract opportunity covers several school sites and offers a vibrant, collaborative environment dedicated to personalized student success. As part of a dynamic team, you'll have the chance to work in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms—with settings ranging from self-contained, moderate-level support to co-taught resource rooms.
Qualifications/Experience:
Hold an active South Carolina SPED Teacher License (Multi-categorical or relevant certifications required) Experience working in special education, preferably across a range of classroom settings (self-contained, resource, co-taught) Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse student populations Adaptable, collaborative, and committed to individualized instruction Ability to manage multiple priorities across elementary, middle, or high school classrooms
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to meet IEP goals for students with varying needs in self-contained, moderate, or co-taught resource settings Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment across different age groups and school sites Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to support students' holistic progress Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities Maintain thorough records and participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and related documentation To apply, please submit a blinded resume, a copy of your South Carolina certifications, your preferred age group, and your available times for interviews.
