Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing dedicated support as a Special Education Teacher on a contract assignment. Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Proven experience in developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) Familiarity with a range of disabilities and effective differentiation strategies Strong classroom management skills Excellent communication abilities to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families Ability to create a nurturing, structured environment that encourages student growth
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and assess individualized instruction tailored to each student's abilities and goals Adapt general curriculum to accommodate students' needs and learning styles Maintain thorough documentation, progress reports, and compliance records Work collaboratively with general education teachers, psychologists, therapists, and other support personnel Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about student goals, achievements, and challenges Foster positive relationships and provide behavioral interventions as needed
