Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for dedicated Special Education Teachers looking to make an impact across multiple school sites for the upcoming academic year. The assignment spans elementary, middle, and high school settings, offering varied roles ranging from moderate, self-contained classrooms to co-taught resource rooms. Consistent weekly hours, a supportive learning environment, and a focus on student growth create the foundation for meaningful work as part of a collaborative team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active South Carolina Special Education Teacher License with Multi-categorical or appropriate certifications required Experience working in diverse SPED environments, including self-contained and co-taught classrooms, is highly desirable Flexibility to adapt instruction for elementary, middle, or high school students Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to work onsite throughout the length of the contract; virtual/VOCO may be considered near the start of the school year if necessary
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction in settings ranging from moderate special education classrooms to resource/co-taught environments Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff to ensure effective support and inclusion for students Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Foster positive learning experiences that address a range of disabilities and learning needs Maintain accurate records and communication with families and educational teams
