Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs? Ten talented, dedicated Special Education Teachers are sought to deliver exceptional instruction for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This role offers the opportunity to work on-site, full-time, and is ideal for travel professionals interested in exploring South Carolina's welcoming communities while advancing their education careers. You'll collaborate closely with teams to foster a positive, inclusive environment within an elementary school setting.
Multiple positions are available:
two Resource Teachers and two Core Replacement Teachers (grades K-5), along with one Moderate-Severe position for the same grade range. Full orientation and guidance on living arrangements will be provided—perfect for those seeking a supportive transition to the area.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) Bachelor's degree (required); Master's degree in Special Ed or a related field is a plus Previous experience working with K-5 students in a special education setting preferred Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities Dedication to fostering student growth in both resource and self-contained classrooms
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement individualized education plans in accordance with state and federal guidelines Foster a welcoming, supportive learning environment for diverse learners Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to meet student needs Monitor progress and modify instruction to ensure every child thrives Participate in IEP meetings and professional development throughout the year You'll enjoy working within a collegial atmosphere with flexibility and guidance provided regarding local living arrangements for traveling professionals.
