Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Inspire growth and foster success in students as a Special Education Resource Teacher. This full-time, school-based contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic educational environment during the 2026-2027 school year. You'll engage with middle school learners, guiding them in both push-in and pull-out resource settings and working closely with dedicated colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted instruction in reading, math, and other core subject areas Design, implement, and monitor individualized education plans tailored to student IEP goals Provide academic and behavioral support within general education classrooms, including co-teaching and collaboration with classroom staff Track student progress and contribute to comprehensive, accurate recordkeeping Participate actively in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with documentation requirements Work collaboratively with general and special education team members to ensure cohesive support for every learner
Desired Qualifications:
Valid (or pending) South Carolina Special Education certification Experience working in resource or inclusion settings, particularly at the secondary level, strongly preferred Exceptional collaboration and communication skills Expertise in delivering differentiated academic and behavioral support to diverse learners Commitment to developing positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues You'll find inspiration each day as you help students achieve their potential in a supportive, professional setting.
