Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a full-time Special Education Teacher in an alternative educational setting, focused on supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs. This opportunity is ideal for educators with resilience, compassion, and experience providing therapeutic learning environments where every student is valued and supported. You will use your expertise to deliver individualized instruction and create positive behavioral change for students in an ED classroom. Desired Qualifications:
Current South Carolina Special Education Teacher certification, or ability to obtain Demonstrated experience in emotional disabilities (ED), behavioral, or alternative education environments preferred Strong skills in classroom management and crisis intervention Expertise in implementing behavior intervention plans and de-escalation techniques Commitment to maintaining a calm, consistent, and student-centered approach even amid challenging situations
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student's IEP within a supportive, therapeutic classroom Apply behavior intervention and de-escalation strategies, adapting to daily needs Foster a structured and secure learning atmosphere that promotes social-emotional growth Collaborate effectively with behavioral teams, administrators, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student's success Keep accurate records of student progress and actively participate in IEP and team meetings Make a difference in the lives of students who need dedicated, passionate educators.
