Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Resource Teacher and empower middle and high school students to achieve academic growth. This full-time position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact for the 2026-2027 academic year by providing targeted instruction and support within a dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver resource support in reading, math, and other core academic areas for students with diverse learning needs in both push-in and pull-out settings. Design and implement individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals, adapting strategies to meet each student's unique strengths and challenges. Foster student success in general education classrooms through effective co-teaching and ongoing consultation with classroom teachers. Track student progress, maintain thorough documentation, and monitor outcomes to inform instruction and meet compliance standards. Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to create a positive, inclusive learning environment. Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to timely and accurate compliance documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid (or pending) South Carolina Special Education certification. Previous experience in resource or inclusion classroom settings. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a range of colleagues and families. Ability to provide academic and behavioral support tailored to students at the high school level.
