Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your expertise to a vibrant educational environment as a Special Education Resource Teacher and positively impact the lives of elementary students. In this full-time, contract role for the 2026-2027 school year, you will play a crucial part in providing specialized academic support, fostering student success, and collaborating closely with a dedicated educational team.
Responsibilities include:
Deliver resource instruction in core academic areas such as reading and math for elementary students. Plan, develop, and implement individualized lessons tailored to each student's IEP goals. Support inclusion by co-teaching or consulting with general education staff within classroom settings. Monitor student achievement and progress, maintaining accurate and timely records to inform instruction and report outcomes. Work closely with fellow special education professionals and general educators, participating in regular team meetings to ensure all student needs are met. Assist in IEP meetings and support all aspects of compliance documentation.
Desired qualifications:
Valid or pending South Carolina certification in Special Education. Previous experience in resource, inclusion, or similar settings is preferred. Strong organizational, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Skilled at supporting elementary-age learners academically and with behavior management. Dedication to fostering safe, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences.
