Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity making a difference as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year! This contract role is designed for compassionate and dedicated professionals passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in an onsite school setting. Two positions are available, with a full-time schedule and supportive colleagues eager to welcome a skilled educator to their community.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current, active South Carolina Teaching License required Experience as a Special Education Teacher within school environments strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction and foster inclusive classroom communities Proven collaboration skills when working with paraprofessionals, general educators, and parents/guardians Strong organizational skills and flexibility in dynamic educational settings
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal and state regulations Facilitate engaging, accessible lessons and adapt teaching methods to meet each student's unique needs Conduct assessments and track progress, maintaining thorough records and ongoing communication with stakeholders Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for every learner Participate in IEP meetings, school events, and professional development as required Support a positive, respectful, and safe classroom atmosphere You'll be joining a vibrant educational environment during a pivotal school year from late July through May, working onsite and maintaining direct, meaningful impact with your students.
