Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding teaching opportunity supporting middle school learners as a Resource Special Education Teacher. This contract position begins July 27, 2026, and continues through the end of the academic year, offering a consistent 37.5 hours per week. You'll make a meaningful impact at a welcoming middle school serving a vibrant student population requiring individualized educational strategies. Responsibilities will focus on delivering tailored instruction, fostering inclusivity, and helping students build academic and socio-emotional skills. Collaborating closely with general and special education staff, you'll contribute to a supportive environment where every learner has the resources and encouragement they need to succeed.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility) Prior experience working as a Special Education or Resource Teacher preferred Ability to develop and implement IEPs for students with varied learning needs Skilled in differentiating instruction and managing small-group settings Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills Dedication to helping middle school students achieve growth in all areas
