This is a full-time summer position providing instruction and support to students who are blind or visually impaired. First summer session June 1-18, July 6-24. Experience with or willingness to learn about visual impairments. Strong communication and adaptability skills necessary. Join our team and make a meaningful impact this summer! As a part of the state's educational system, the school does not charge for tuition, room, and board or fees for any services provided by the school or staff, including educational assessments. The mission of the SDSBVI is to educate children who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind. This is done through programs available on the campus in Aberdeen and through outreach consultant services state-wide. The SDSBVI offers a regular K-12 curriculum as well as emphasis on the Expanded Core Curriculum of Blindness, Braille, Orientation and Mobility, Social Skills, Communication, Daily Living Skills, Adaptive Technology, Sensory Efficiency, Self-Advocacy, and Vocational Preparation.
