REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:

Two years successful post high school education.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

At least one year of work experience in a position requiring interpersonal interaction skills, knowledge of programming for students with behavior disorders.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires hearing, hand-eye coordination, mind-eye coordination, keyboarding and telephoning. Frequent repetitive motions with wrists, hands, fingers. Frequent physical management of students.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Regular, reliable attendance. Experience with behavior management. Ability to use a computer for word processing and data entry. Ability to maintain confidential information. Regular contact with students with emotional, cognitive and/or conduct-related disorders. Due to the nature of position and of the behavior program and of the students assigned, required the ability to work in a stressful environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

Support students in the general classroom and alternative learning settings to manage behaviors and support learning. Establishes a positive rapport with students, co-workers and parents which conveys enthusiasm and caring. Works cooperatively with team members to outline a behavior plan and evaluate the plan's appropriateness and need for modifications. Demonstrates knowledge of behavioral strategies. Works with individual students in 1:1 and small group settings to reinforce behavioral goals/objectives outlined by the problem-solving team. Document student progress on behavior and goals. Conducts observations and collects classroom teacher documentation needed for referral and reintegration procedures. Works collaboratively with district staff and families to create supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environments for all students, particularly students who exhibit challenging behaviors. Participates in the implementation and revision of student behavior programs. Supervises student activities, when needed. Participates in professional development as required and when requested by the District. Supports personal cares of students (washing hands, bath rooming, eating, etc.) May be assigned to more than one school by supervisors. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors. PAY INFORMATION

Pay Day:

Last working day of each month.

HOURS & FTE

Monday through Thursday; occasional Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm with a 30-minute unpaid break .8 FTE, 32 hours per week, 9 months
