Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year as a Special Education Teacher supporting students' growth and success in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time, contract role is tailored for dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a meaningful impact in students' lives. Your expertise working with extended resource self-contained caseloads will make a difference for learners across two distinct groups: K-2nd grade and 3rd-8th grade. You'll collaborate with peers and families, implement individualized education plans, and help foster an inclusive learning atmosphere designed to empower every student.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Active 461 Special Education License required Gifted Endorsement preferred Experience with special education in a schools-based setting Familiarity with extended resource or self-contained classrooms Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Ability to modify curriculum and adapt instruction to diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and provide instruction for assigned caseloads in either K-2nd grade or 3rd-8th grade groups Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to support student learning and inclusion Utilize evidence-based strategies to address academic, behavioral, and social goals Create a safe and positive classroom atmosphere conducive to student growth Maintain accurate documentation and comply with legal requirements for special education This position provides the stability of a full-time schedule throughout the academic year, offering a chance to build lasting connections and positively influence students at an important stage in their educational journey.
