Health Teacher, Grades 5-8 (2026-27 School Year)

East End Prep is looking for a middle school health teacher with exceptionally high expectations for their students combined with a whatever it takes attitude toward meeting those expectations. Located in the heart of East Nashville, East End Prep is empowering elementary and middle school students with the foundation necessary to excel in middle school, high school, and eventually college completion. We are searching for a passionate, innovative Health Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators in providing engaging health education to our students. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about educating others and dedicated to improving the health and well-being of those in their care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to: Develop and implement lesson plans on a variety of health topics. Teach students about physical health, including exercise and nutrition. Educate students on mental and emotional health, including stress management. Create a classroom environment that encourages open and respectful discussion. Evaluate and assess student performance and understanding of health topics. Develop and update health education curriculum to meet current health standards. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with health education best practices. Collaborate with community health organizations to enhance the health education program. Collaboration with other related arts teachers and classroom teachers is a vital part of this role. Responsibilities also include monitoring student growth and completing report cards at the end of each quarter. In addition to teaching and classroom support responsibilities, the Middle School Health Teacher will assist with other duties as requested by administration, including lunch and arrival/dismissal duty.
