Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role for the 2026-2027 school year supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant K-8 school environment. As a valued educator, you'll champion inclusive learning while managing extended resource self-contained caseloads. Full-time contracts are available, giving you the chance to engage meaningfully with students and fellow professionals in a collaborative setting.
Required Qualifications and Preferred Background:
Valid 461 Special Education License required Gifted Endorsement highly preferred Prior experience teaching in a special education setting is beneficial Knowledge of differentiated instruction and IEP development Strong commitment to fostering a supportive classroom environment Excellent communication and team collaboration skills Ability to organize and adapt lessons for diverse learning profiles
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students in either K-2nd grade or 3rd-8th grade caseloads within self-contained resource classrooms Design and implement individualized education plans, monitoring academic and social progress Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service staff for cohesive student support Utilize strategies that address varied learner needs and maximize student growth Communicate regularly with families regarding milestones and progress Participate in required professional development and school meetings to stay current with best practices
