Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding educational setting where your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) will impact K-12+ students across a dynamic, itinerant caseload. Beginning August 5, 2026, and extending through May 19, 2027, this full-time contract opportunity (35 hours per week, with potential for part-time consideration) places you within a supportive school community in the Chattanooga area. With vacancies unfilled for the prior year, your skills will be integral to shaping inclusive learning experiences.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid DOE certification, with fingerprint clearance required prior to start Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Virtual TVI (for candidates seeking virtual roles) Deep knowledge of Braille instruction and the implementation of assistive technology; experience with the Federal Quota program is highly valued Proficiency in using digital platforms such as TN Pulse (for IEPs) and understanding of Chromebooks in an educational setting Experience supporting a range of students, from those in general education to multi-disability special classrooms Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage itinerant assignments and adapt to evolving schedules
Core Responsibilities:
