Primary Purpose:
Provide students, who have behavioral challenges, with learning activities and experiences designed to teach appropriate classroom behaviors. Instruction may occur in small groups and/or individually, on a case-by-case basis (as identified by RtI, 504, or ARD committees) Provide in-class support to classroom teachers via modeling of appropriate strategies to increase the capacity of teachers while minimizing classroom disruptions and maximizing students' success within the classroom Provide professional development to instructional staff related to positive behavior supports and restorative discipline
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of general education curriculum requirements Knowledge of the District Code of Conduct and special provisions as they apply to students in 504 and special education Knowledge of social skills curriculum Advanced knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies for working with students with problem behaviors, including restorative discipline practices Evidence of ability to directly intervene with students who have behavioral challenges and provide instruction to both student and classroom teacher regarding effective behavioral interventions Ability to provide assistance and support to teachers via modeling of appropriate behavioral strategies Develop individualized behavioral intervention plans Ability to gather, maintain, and utilize behavioral data when making recommendations Ability to effectively utilize district approved crisis intervention strategies (including CPI certification) Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Minimum of three years of experience as a classroom teacher with a documented history of successful classroom management experience Experience in working with behavioral programs preferred

Teacher/ 10 Months
