Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school district in Forney, TX is seeking a skilled Teacher for the Visually Impaired to serve the 2026-2027 school year. This itinerant position will require providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across multiple campuses, ensuring their educational needs are met in various settings. The role offers a minimum of 37.5 hours per week and involves traveling between 10 campuses on alternating days, with an administrative office located at the district annex.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are visually impaired. Manage a caseload of approximately 25 students. Provide direct instruction, consult with classroom teachers, and support student access to the curriculum. Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff to support student success. Travel between multiple campuses efficiently to maintain consistent service delivery. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
