Our Client is seeking Teachers for the Visually Impaired/Orientation and Mobility Specialists in the Forney, TX area and including multiple neighboring districts for the remainder 2026 school year.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
The Teacher of the Visually Impaired/Orientation and Mobility Specialist is to provide specialized direct and consultative special education services to students with visual impairments and other related disabilities. The role supports students in achieving maximum independence through safe, efficient travel and access to educational programming within the home, school, and community.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degreei n related field Relevant job-related experience in education and services for students with visual impairments and experience in a school setting Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of ER and IEP processes Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team Strong organizational skills Proficient use of computers and computer programs
License/Certification:
Texas Visual Impairment Certification and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist -COMS (Required) Teaching Certification (Required) Special Education Certification (Required)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Deliver direct instruction and consultation to students with visual impairments, supporting their academic, social, and functional goals. Collaborate with instructional staff, diagnosticians, ophthalmologists, optometrists, parents, and community agencies to ensure appropriate accommodations and services are provided. Participate actively in the development and implementation of Evaluation Reports (ER) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), contributing to goal setting and progress monitoring. Maintain accurate and updated pupil records, including progress reports and assessment documentation, to track student outcomes and meet compliance standards.
