Floater Teacher UUMC Child Development Center - 3.0 Fort Worth, TX Job Details Full-time $16 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Classroom Teaching Child Development Associate Certification Full Job Description Job Summary Provides loving and nurturing care of all children that attend the faith based Childcare Program in such a way that enhances the physical, mental, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of children ages six-weeks through preschool.
Essential Functions:
Meet and follow requirements of local and State Childcare Regulations. Observe all rules and regulations of the UUMC CDC and the local, state agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children. Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care of the center; and Report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation to Department of Family and Protective Services as specified in the Texas Family Code, §261.101. Assist with the Lead Teacher to implement the lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Frog Street curriculum. Keep all appropriate records such as attendance, sign in sheets, roll call sheets, incident reports and daily reports for children. Accept responsibility for the necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom. Maintain the UUMCDC professional attitude and work behavior. Maintain overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines in the
UUMC CDC
handbook. Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and staff. Be free from activities not directly involving the teaching, care, and supervision of children. Assist in other capacities as determined by the Director.
Essential Functions Involving Children:
Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities. Provide a positive, nurturing environment and show courtesy, respect and patience to the children. Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families, and their cultures. Provide the children with verbal praise and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior. Foster developmentally appropriate independence in children through planned but flexible program activities. Interact with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
Other Responsibilities:
Attends training as directed and required by Texas Childcare Regulation. Follow the Personnel Handbook Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and /or school functions as determined by the
Director Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, CDA or Degree Preferred 1 year of experience working in childcare
Physical Requirements:
Able to move freely up and down stairs, in and throughout church facilities Able to lift 50 pounds Able to physically and mentally interact and react to children on the playground and/ or in the classroom, and attend to their needs Must have the energy level required to do the job
