Surgery Scheduling Specialist

+ Join our team members who have strong work ethic, positive attitudes, and support each other thru collaborative teamwork + We pride ourselves in being compassionate and empathic to our patients and team Here's What You Need + High School Diploma or Equivalent (required) + Surgery Scheduling experience (strongly preferred) + 2 Years related experience in Healthcare environment (preferred) + Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism + Requires strong customer skills + Good communication skills + Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism + A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment What You Will Do + Delivers care to patients utilizing the Surgery Scheduling Specialist Process + Schedules all inpatient and outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by the physician + Coordinates, registers and schedule appointments for patients according to availability + Conducts physician pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care + Ensures all required tests needed prior to surgery are done + Coordinates and ensures necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc., is arranged prior to scheduled procedure + Schedules any necessary follow-up appointments + Communicates and answers patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival/departure instructions relative to procedure + Performs other duties as assigned Additional perks of being a Texas Health employee + Benefits include 401k, PTO, medical, dental, Paid Parental Leave, flex spending, tuition reimbursement, Student Loan Repayment Program as well as several other benefits. + Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice. + Strong Unit Based Council (UBC). + A supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth.
