Description The Transition Academy of Birdville (T.A.B.) is a post-secondary education program that provides opportunities for adults who have completed their high school credits. The purpose is for participants to gain additional independent living and job skills training in order to be better prepared for life after high school. The Program Facilitator is responsible for program development, facilitation, quality assurance and reporting; as well as the supervision of program staff, students, and volunteers in their assigned program area. Job Qualifications Bachelors degree and Texas Teacher Certification required; special education and/or administration certification preferred. Work experience in youth/young adult services or related fields, which includes some experience in supervision, administration, curriculum and program development, as well as community relations and classroom instruction. Skill in working with diverse students, staff, and communities. Proven ability to communicate with stakeholders and foster their involvement and participation in program planning, problem solving, and decision-making. Proven ability to develop, implement, and coordinate multi-faceted programs that are responsive to participants needs and interests. Proven ability to inspire, stimulate, and encourage creativity and innovation. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate district-approved transition programs and services. Assess programs continuously to ensure effectiveness and relevance. Meet with stakeholders regularly to promote programs and encourage community partnerships. Coach students individually or collectively; make referrals to adult agencies as needed. Initiate and cooperate in inter-agency collaborative efforts; serve as an advocate for participants. Inform the supervisor and other necessary staff of problems, concerns, needs, and trends. Collect district-required paperwork on program participants; submit accurate and timely reports. Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local codes, policies, and procedures. Communicate with teachers, school personnel, and itinerant staff regularly, both in written and oral situations, with an emphasis on customer service and a sense of urgency. Facilitate speaking engagements when assigned. Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned. Meet programmatic goals and deadlines as set by district leadership. Understand and support the mission of the Transition Academy of Birdville; commit to elevating mission effectiveness. Represent the District with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence at all times. Participate in goal-setting for program objectives, strategies, and tactics. Related Program Activities Participate in periodic assessment of own performance; develop professional goals and objectives. Participate in staff meetings and conferences; work collaboratively with staff to meet goals. Participate in community and engagement events as directed. Engage in approved continuing education opportunities as appropriate. Serve as an ambassador for the T.A.B. program.
