Principal and/or Assistant Principal Make a Difference Where It Matters Most Killeen ISD is seeking passionate and dedicated Secondary Teachers who are committed to helping students reach their full intellectual, emotional, physical, and social potential. You'll create engaging learning experiences, foster curiosity, and equip students with the skills they need to thrive in school and in life. What You'll Do As a Secondary Teacher, you will: Instruction & Student Learning Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency standards Use a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to meet diverse learning needs Adapt instructional materials and teaching methods to support all learners Assess student progress through formal and informal methods and provide timely feedback Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments Maintain accurate attendance and grade records Classroom Environment & Student Support Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports learning and growth Establish and consistently apply fair classroom expectations and discipline practices Encourage strong study habits and enthusiasm for learning Teach appropriate conduct, social skills, and responsible behavior Counsel students with academic or behavioral concerns and refer to support staff when needed Communication & Collaboration Communicate student progress and concerns with parents/guardians Maintain professional relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members Collaborate with staff to support school and district initiatives Participate in staff, department, and committee meetings Professional Responsibilities Participate in ongoing professional development and training Stay current in subject knowledge and instructional best practices Support extracurricular and campus activities as assigned Model professionalism, ethical conduct, and district values Maintain reliable attendance and preparedness, including substitute plans when absent Campus & Operational Support Supervise educational aides and volunteers as assigned Safeguard students, materials, equipment, and facilities Assist with selection of instructional materials and resources Coordinate field trips and student activities Physical Education Teachers (If Applicable) PE Teachers will also: Develop programs that promote physical fitness and social development Teach individual and team sports, fitness, and movement skills Lead and officiate indoor and outdoor activities Instruct calisthenics, gymnastics, weight training, and corrective exercises Manage and maintain PE equipment and facilities Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree Valid Texas Teaching Certificate Preferred Skills Strong classroom management and instructional planning Effective written and verbal communication Ability to engage diverse student populations Proficiency with instructional technology Work Environment & Physical Requirements Regular standing, walking, and classroom mobility Frequent computer and instructional technology use Light to moderate lifting and carrying Occasional travel between district campuses Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced school environment with frequent interruptions Why Killeen ISD?
