Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity serving schools in the vibrant Killeen, TX area for the full 2025-2027 academic years! As a Special Education Teacher, you'll make a meaningful impact on students across the district in a full-time, contract role—working 40 hours per week. Multiple positions are available district-wide, with assignments tailored to both your certification and teaching experience for Early Childhood through Grade 12. Your journey begins August 3, 2026, with a comprehensive orientation, followed by the first day of school on August 17. The contract runs through the last day of classes on May 27, 2027.
Qualifications:
Current and active Texas Teaching Certification required Must hold Special Education, EC-12 certification Additionally, must have at least ONE of the following: EC-6 Core Subjects certification 4-8 Generalist certification 9-12 subject-specific certification Experience with diverse student populations a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement IEPs tailored to students' unique learning needs Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in inclusive and specialized settings Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including general education teachers, therapists, and support staff Communicate regularly with families, maintaining a positive and supportive relationship Adapt curriculum and instructional methods based on student assessment and progress monitoring Enjoy competitive hourly compensation between $39 and $42, commensurate with your degree, credentials, and experience.
