About the
Role:
The 2s Teacher plays a critical role in fostering the early development and learning of two-year-old children by creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating classroom environment. This position focuses on supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of toddlers through age-appropriate activities and individualized attention. The teacher collaborates closely with families and colleagues to ensure each child's unique needs are met and to promote a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Additionally, the role involves observing and documenting developmental milestones and progress to tailor educational approaches effectively. Ultimately, the 2s Teacher contributes to building a positive early childhood experience that encourages curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with toddlers or in an early childhood education setting. Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching strategies for two-year-olds. Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements for childcare providers. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in CPR and First Aid for infants and young children. Experience with curriculum development for early childhood education. Familiarity with developmental screening tools and assessment methods. Abilities or experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds. Ongoing professional development in early childhood education best practices.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote learning and exploration for two-year-old children. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that supports the physical and emotional well-being of each child. Observe, assess, and document each child's developmental progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians. Collaborate with fellow teachers, caregivers, and administrators to ensure consistency and quality in the educational program. Support children in developing social skills, language, motor skills, and self-regulation through guided play and structured routines.
Skills:
The required skills enable the teacher to create and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment tailored to toddlers' developmental stages. Effective communication skills are essential for building trusting relationships with children and their families, as well as collaborating with colleagues. Observation and assessment skills help the teacher monitor each child's growth and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Preferred skills such as CPR certification and familiarity with developmental tools enhance the teacher's ability to respond to health and safety needs and support individualized learning plans. Additionally, cultural sensitivity and bilingual abilities enrich daily interactions and foster inclusivity within the classroom.
