Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in students' lives as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in South Austin, TX. In this contract position, you'll support approximately 30 elementary students (grades EC-6) in Resource Math, guiding them to achieve success in a supportive and inclusive environment. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, ensuring a consistent routine that fosters learning and growth.
Required Skills and Experience:
Active Texas Educator License with EC-6 Special Education and Core/Generalist endorsements Demonstrated Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process experience Confidence and skill in actively participating in ARD meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Commitment to following dress code policies: no visible tattoos, single color hair, limited earrings, and professional attire Previous experience working with diverse learners and adapting instructional strategies to support different needs is a plus
Responsibilities:
Provide targeted Resource Math instruction for EC-6 students in alignment with individualized education programs (IEPs) Participate in all facets of the ARD process, including preparation, meeting attendance, and follow-up actions Maintain open communication with families, administrators, and support staff to ensure student progress Monitor and document student growth, making data-informed recommendations for ongoing support Foster a positive and respectful classroom community where all students feel included
