Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis in the Southeast Texas Coast region. This full-time position, beginning August 3, 2026, and extending through May 28, 2027, offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic school environment. Each assignment is at a single campus, allowing you to focus on building relationships and supporting your students throughout the academic year. Candidates can expect to be considered for one of upwards of 50 vacancies, ensuring a range of locations to fit your preferences. Educators skilled in working with students with Autism and severe behavioral needs will be given priority—your expertise will be invaluable in advancing student success.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Texas DOE Special Education teaching certificate Full-time availability (40 hours per week) Experience supporting children or adolescents with Autism and severe behavioral challenges Strong classroom management and collaboration skills Ability to start credentialing quickly; Texas fingerprinting required for those not already cleared Passion for fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to student learning needs Collaborate closely with school staff, specialists, and families Monitor student progress, adjust strategies, and document performance Create a positive, engaging classroom culture
