Job Description

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at the Grace Hopper Pathways. This position serves as the Program for Employment Preparedness (PEP) Teacher.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Foster partnerships and ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student(s) progress. Plan and implement appropriate instructional and/or learning strategies and activities, including determination of appropriate kind and level of materials, provide appropriate learning experiences, manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning. Assist students and families in the transition process for PEP, including attending transition IEP meetings and collaborating with base school Transition Coordinators for referrals. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
Experience teaching high school students with special needs. Knowledge of best instructional practices. Ability to integrate technology.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure. Special Education endorsement. Excellent public speaking skills. Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting.
