Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school division in Buena Vista, VA, is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide specialized educational services on a part-time contract basis. This role involves working closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across multiple school settings, delivering tailored instruction and support to meet their unique learning needs.
Qualifications:
Valid Virginia Teaching Certification in Visual Education Certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
Location:
Buena Vista, Virginia Responsibilities:
Provide direct educational services to 10-20 students with hearing impairments across three schools in the division Develop and implement individualized instructional plans that address the communication and learning needs of each student Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote student success Maintain detailed records of student progress and participate in relevant meetings Deliver services primarily in-person, with potential for virtual options as needed
